  1. Using this program you can install Sensible World of Soccer onto your HD.
  2. The main part of it was written by Sentinel, but I've had to slightly
  3. modify it because it didn't work with SWOS 1.1, 95/96 and EC'96.
  4.  
  5. Features:
  6. - 1.0, 1.1, 95/96 and EC'96 versions of SWOS supported.
  7. - easy way of installation (supplied installer script).
  8. - an icon included.
  9.  
  10. Requirements:
  11. - 3 meg of RAM (tested on 2MB Chip / 4MB Fast) on A1200 with FastMem and
  12.   on A1200 with Blizzard-IV 030.
  13. - hard disk (if you haven't one, why have you downloaded it?)

  15. Using:
  16. First of all you have to have an Installer somewhere in your system path.
  17. I think the best place for it is C:  directory.  Then you can run installer
  18. script by clicking on an "SWOS Install" icon.  Now you can set the
  19. directory where the game should be installed, choose the version of SWOS,
  20. insert SWOS disks and wait.

  22. Disclaimer:
  23. This program has been tested with all supported (1.0, 1.1, 95/96 and EC'96)
  24. versions of SWOS and it seems to work properly.  However authors are not
  25. responsible for any loss of data, damages to software or hardware that may
  26. result directly or indirectly from the use of this program.  I can't
  27. guarantee, that my installer works with all pirated versions of SWOS.
  28. However it should work with originals.

  33. If you are a fan of SWOS try to download SWOS data editor.  It's available
  34. in Aminet /pub/aminet/game/patch/SWOSEd.lha. It's not an older version
  35. of swosedv2.lha file! Download SWOSEd.lha!

  38. BLIZZARD BUGFIX?

  40. Many people told me that they can run only ECS version of SWOS on A1200s
  41. with Blizzard when they install the game onto their HD using previous
  42. versions of my installer.  This version should work well.  I tested it on
  43. A1200/Blizzard-IV 030/6MB RAM.

  46. IMPORTANT FOR SWOS 95/96 AND EC'96 USERS:
  47.  
  48. Don't format, delete or do whatever with your original SWOS disks.
  49. Sometimes you'll have to insert these disk to floppy drive.  I have tried
  50. but I can't find a procedure, which checks is a proper disk inserted.
  51. Everything will be loaded from HD (well, from the memory, indeed) of
  52. course.

  55. BOOT DISK
  56.  
  57. Even if your Amiga has 6MB of RAM, sometimes SWOS can't be loaded properly
  58. because of memory fragmentation, an error message appears, or ECS/OCS
  59. version is loaded even if you have an AGA machine.  How to solve this
  60. problem?  Very simple.  Prepare a special boot disk.
  61.   1. Format a diskette and make it bootable (use C:Install command)
  62.   2. Create a drawer called "s" on this disk
  63.   3. Create a file called "startup-sequence" in this drawer using your
  64. favourite text editor.  It should look like this:

  66. Cd Work:Games/SWOS  ; specify a path where SWOS is installed on your HD here
  67. ssboot swos
  68. ---
  69.   4. Every time you want to play SWOS, boot your Amiga from this boot disk.

  71. If you have an AGA machine, but still ECS/OCS version of SWOS is loaded
  72. even from boot disk, try to write "ssboot swos2" instead of "ssboot swos".
  73. On my A1200 AGA version is loaded without any changes, but I got some
  74. reports from users of Blizzard turbo cards that they can play only ECS/OCS
  75. version of SWOS.  If you tried everything and SWOS AGA is still unreachable
  76. for you, I'm sorry.  I can't do anything more for you...  On my A1200
  77. everything works fine!

  95. What is prayware?  Well, you can use this program without any restrictions,
  96. freely copy it etc., but...  you have to pray God for help for the new
  97. Champions of Poland - Widzew Lodz - to play well in the Champions League.

  106. installer (it didn't work on non-AGA machines).

  109. them HD installer for SWOS EC'96 would be ready much time later.

  111. Thanks to Piotr Cieniak.  I got many signals from Blizzard users, that they
  112. can run only ECS version of the game even on AGA machines, but I couldn't
  113. fix this, since I don't have Blizzard.  Piotr owns this turbo card and let
  114. me test my HD installer on his machine.
